Miss Shoesmith, 57, is one of five 'experts’ asked to appear at the Education Committee during a one-day inquiry on child safeguarding.Oh, wow! Indeed, unless it’s to point at her and say ‘Whatever she did, do the opposite!’, I really can’t see how they could gain from this.
I hope she isn’t being paid…
Fellow Labour MP Michael Dugher said: 'Wouldn't it make more sense to have people who do a brilliant job in child protection like Barnado's or the NSPCC?'I’m not convinced they are actually any better!
Last night Tory Education-Committee chairman Graham-Stuart said: 'Our job is to take evidence from people, whether they're popular or not.'Who cares whether they’re popular or not. Should the concern be whether they are competent or not?

That must be the plan, unless they are completely mad, of course, which is quite possible.
Indeed!
In my view social workers are largely engaged in doing the impossible, and get paid for taking the fall when they fail.
If I am correct Ms. Shoesmith should have a lot of information to deliver.
What Pat said.
It will be interesting to see what she will say without Nulabor breathing down her neck.
"If I am correct Ms. Shoesmith should have a lot of information to deliver."
It certainly will be interesting to see if she has any dirt to spill...
