Two parental support charities are looking for volunteers to help fight obesity in children.
Health Exercise Nutrition for the Really Young (HENRY) and Family Lives have received funding from the Department of Health to deliver a programme aimed at improving health for families and children.
Two (presumably) taxpayer-funded quangos are roping in the public to act as unpaid workforce?
Both groups need volunteers to work directly with families in improving their health and lifestyles.
Those able to commit 3 hours per week will receive 5 days training to become Healthy Start Mentors.
Wow! Three hours per week! That’ll make all the difference!

Being the co-ordinators of fake charities/semi-quangos like this are a nice little earner for the middle class Left. They can have all the fun of spending money to help people with the advantage being that it's someone else's money.
If it was fat adult chavs in stained velour leisure suits in a chain gang I might consider volunteering to supervise their litter picking activities

You should have seen the local 'community day' I went to yesterday - wall to wall govt (central and local) tents. Stop smoking, start dieting, find out what benefits you can get. You name it, there was a tent for it...
