Was there a time once when the BBC was the one media outlet that could have been relied on to report on this responsibly? Instead we have them whipping up the hysteria and massively exacerbating what would have been a really quite trivial problem. They really are a national disgrace.
The Road Haulage industry is massively pro remain as they were happy to employ cheap labour and drive down wages for UK employees. They've started this panic to blame Brexit. They have now got to pay decent wages for this essential and responsible The quislings at the BBC also have an agenda. Jaded
Goebbels established the folly of listening to any of the State's power-crazed bullies. And better to 'play along' than risk the ferocity of repressive response.
Disgraced ex-Health Secretary Matt Hancock joined more than 40,000 runners taking part in the London Marathon today in the first full-scale staging of the 26.2 mile race in nearly 900 days after the mass event was cancelled last year due to Covid.
Just filled up my car at my local supermarket petrol station (it was nearly empty, had been nursing it for a few days as I was sure the 'crisis' would soon peter out once everyone had a full tank). No queues, all fuel types available, loads of spare pumps. A very normal Sunday afternoon in fact. Location: a large town in south of England, where the BBC tell us 'shortages persist'.
I watched the BBC coverage of the London Marathon today. Being a distance runner who did the LM in 2019, I enjoy watching the proper runners followed by the masses of eccentrics. A few people that we know are running and it's fun trying to spot them. But they can't help themselves, they can't just cover the event, it has to come with a side order of propaganda. We have to kneel and pay homage at the Holy Church of the NHS. Environmental crap, we apparently need to ensure that the London Marathon is sustainable. What does that even mean? In what circumstances would an annual running event not be sustainable?
There was a marathon held for the elite runners only. Ordinary runners did a virtual marathon by running at home and recording their 26.2 miles on their sports watches.

You have to laugh at yet another fake story peddled by the BBC, causing chaos for normal citizens who have to go to work.
As I never believe a word they say anyway, having a bloke with a monica like that just shows how ridiculous the whole sorry bunch in W1AA are.
They could have sent a nonetity like Naga, but she's too busy reading autocues.

I wish that the Daily fail would make up its mind if there was a London Marathon last year.

Ethiopia's Sisay Lemma wins the men's London Marathon with a blistering time of 2:04.01 to make up for his third place finish last year

"They really are a national disgrace."
Gone are their glory days. Now you can't get a fag paper between them and Channel 5...
"They could have sent a nonetity like Naga, but she's too busy reading autocues."
I doubt she could find her way out from behind her desk!
"They've started this panic to blame Brexit."
I see farmers are pressuring the government to drop the English language requirements for vets and farm labourers too... 🙄
"And better to 'play along' than risk the ferocity of repressive response."
Never surrender. Or even pretend to.
"I wish that the Daily fail would make up its mind if there was a London Marathon last year."
I don't trust it any more than the 'Guardian'!

Filled up yesterday at Tesco, I'd been doing the same as you. All garages open now here.
"But they can't help themselves, they can't just cover the event..."
They can't do that for anything any more...
