Bongi Mbonambi 'had mostly white friends' at private school pool parties and 'colour meant nothing to him', his mum says, but now South Africa's hooker is at the centre of Tom Curry 'white ****' racism storm.
So what? None of that would count for anything were the races reversed, in fact, they’d be taken as proof of his racism.
So why should they suddenly be accepted as excuses now..?

The complaint is that he was called “white” not a “****”.
A young woman was charged with calling another a “Welsh Slut” or similar. The woman was having an affair with the young girl’s father so it was entirely a personal matter; it would appear perfectly ok to call her a “fat slut”.
Two words, one an indisputable fact, the other a personal opinion. Together they prove nothing other than that the speaker is both observant and has an opinion. This works both ways. Why, oh why do we need to criminalise and punish people for what is essentially bad manners? The sport authorities and the media shouldn't need to get involved or say anything, and that goes both ways. I'm just getting fed up tiptoeing around grievance mongers.

Indeed!

A very good point, when we can't seem to do it for genuine crimes.
