Police chiefs are embroiled in a fresh woke row over official guidance that says biological men who identify as women can ask to be strip searched by a female officer. The National Police Chiefs’ Council and British Transport Police will next week face a High Court challenge after they published the guidance despite last year’s Supreme Court ruling.Women’s rights groups who have launched the legal action say the advice from police chiefs will put female officers under pressure to search detainees who are biological men.

The police refusing to obey the law? Say it ain't so!  

The NPCC guidance says that female officers can refuse to conduct an intimate search of a trans woman detainee.But women’s rights charity Sex Matter, which is bringing the legal challenge, argues that female officers feel that in reality they can’t opt out of their duties, fearing career repercussions. They claim in legal documents this amounts to discrimination and harassment.

It does, because it is!  

The NPCC said the guidance ‘was developed after a thorough process in response to last year’s Supreme Court ruling’ and is ‘explicit that officers will face no career detriment for refusing to carry out a search’.

Yeah, we the public know you are liars, especially when it relates to woke policies, , so don't expect your staff not to realise it too.

Well, That Was In Another Country, And Besides, The Wench Is Dead..

Hours before Katie Madden took her own life, she had a tense phone call with her former partner Jonathon Russell. Russell was on bail after allegedly assaulting Madden – he was banned from contacting her – but the conversation took place nevertheless.

Like the tango, it takes two to make a phone call. Why didn’t she hang up?

There was a witness to the call who gave evidence to the inquest into Madden’s death. Mason Jones, a friend of Madden’s, said Russell was “vile” and “abusive”. Although Jones said he could not remember the exact words Russell used, he said: “I recall Jon saying at least once that he was in control of the town and would end her life if she didn’t do it herself.”

Which she promptly did. And her family is OUTRAGED! that he’s not being charged as a result, as is the ‘Guardian’, apparently…

In the days leading up to Madden’s death, her mother, Bernadette Sutton, had told police and social services that she was concerned about the threat Russell posed to her daughter. “By this point, I thought he would kill her or she would take her own life,” Sutton said, in a statement. Nigel Parsley, the coroner, concluded that Madden died by suicide while the balance of her mind was disturbed, but he also cited her relationship with Russell, with whom she had two children, as a contributory factor.“Kate’s toxic relationship, in conjunction with Kate’s known mental health conditions, affected her state of mind and therefore contributed to her death,” he said.

Is that a crime that carries a charge, then?  

Despite this, no police investigation into Bignell’s role in Barter’s death has ever been launched and the Crown Prosecution Service says there is insufficient evidence to bring charges.

Seems not. 

Inquests have a different burden of proof to criminal courts, finding on the balance of probabilities, rather than the criminal threshold of beyond reasonable doubt. There is no criminal due process and nobody is convicted or acquitted.

In other words, coroners get to grandstand and sympathise with the grieving family and it costs them nothing, so they do it. And it seems this one wasn't prepared to sign off on something they could be criticised for later: 

In Katie Madden’s case, although the coroner acknowledged that a toxic relationship contributed to her death, he did not make any finding of unlawful killing. Almost two years on, Madden’s family say Russell has not been investigated in relation to any of the inquest findings or any alleged abuse. This is despite admitting at the inquest that he gave Madden a black eye weeks before she died.

Have the police charged him with assault then?  

Police closed the assault investigation just days after Madden was found hanged at her home in Lowestoft, Suffolk. “The idea that it would just be dropped because she died – it should never be the case,” her mother says.

The police have to cut their cloth according to the CPS's budget. With no live complainant, it's not hard to see why they aren't preapared to go to trial, is it?  

Not Taking 'No' For An Answer

Recorder Jas Jandu also issued a ten year restraining order and said that Paul could face deportation after the defendant admitted stalking involving serious alarm or distress.

Asish Jose Paul, 26, was warned to stay away from Lutaruta Masiulonyte after he spent six months between July 7 and December 30 last year pestering his former co-worker, showering her with gifts when she blocked his number. The accountancy student, originally from Kerala, India, was given police bail on his arrest and warned not to go back to the zoo. But he returned the very next day to speak with Ms Masiulonyte. Jose Paul was then re-arrested, charged with stalking and given bail magistrates with conditions not to enter the Borough of Westminster or contact the complainant. The stalker headed straight back to the zoo, however, and was arrested once again. He was again bailed with a condition not to go within 50 metres of London Zoo but visited the tourist attraction once more, explaining to Royal Park attendants that he was 'in love' with his former colleague.

Despite clear evidence that he ignored all the bail conditions and warnings, the justice system simply kept imposing them...what an exercise in futility. 

Not much there for his defence to work with, so she tried the novel approach of 'Look, there are far worse crimes committed by others':

But Georgina Lane, defending said: 'There is no evidence that very serious distress was caused. 'I am not diminishing the level of distress that was caused, but when one considers the array of offences that come before this court, including violence and threats, very serious distress was not caused.

 Followed by a demand for leniency on the basis 'he'd mad, not bad'::

'The defendant's responsibility is substantially reduced due to a mental disorder and learning disabilities.

'He has suffered a lot in prison and he has learned his lesson. Perhaps it took for him to be remanded in custody for it to hit home for Mr Paul.

'He completed a degree in business administration in India, and he obtained a masters degree in accounting and finance. He has good future career prospects and he hopes to obtain a job as a financial analyst.'

Perhaps he can go work for the Treasury, if - as expected - the Home Office fails to boot him back to India... 

Such As, Brian?

Police hunting for people who use small amounts of cannabis is a waste of scarce resources, and diverts officers from tackling much more serious criminals, a former police chief has said.

Who is advancing this viewpoint? 

Brian Paddick was a senior Metropolitan police officer who in 2001 pioneered the limited decriminalisation of cannabis in a pilot scheme in Lambeth, south London. His comments come after the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, backed calls for the partial decriminalisation of cannabis possession.

Aha - someone with experience then? 

Paddick said officers would spend hours processing cannabis arrests that would result in minor punishment, such as a caution or conditional discharge: “We were wasting a lot of money for something that was not a priority at the time. He added: “80% of local people were in favour of the effective decriminalisation of cannabis for personal use.”

I've no doubt, but we aren’t going to import the customs of the ethnics as well as the ethnics themselves, Brisn, are we?

He denied that limited decriminalisation amounted to going soft on drugs: “When I was in Lambeth there were a lot more important things police needed to spend their time on and it was doing a lot of damage to police community relations. “The policing of small amounts of cannabis is disproportionately focused on young Black men. I think the argument that cannabis is a gateway drug is no longer considered to be a credible theory.”

Well, Brian, be that as it may. but the waft of cannabis emanating from my fellow morning Tube commuters often seems to come from white or mixed race men adorned with hi-vis and carrying safety helmets, which I'm sure even you'd have to agree is somewhat alarming, surely? 

More Worthless Tick-Boxing Drain On Retailers Time

Retailers will be required to report suspicious or bulk purchases of knives, and those caught selling blades to under-18s will face tougher sentences under a new raft of measures to clamp down on young people’s access to weapons labelled Ronan’s law.

Who? 

Named after Ronan Kanda, the 16-year-old killed in Wolverhampton in 2022 by a teenager carrying a 22in ninja blade he had ordered online, the new laws are part of a raft of anti-knife crime plans announced by the government on Wednesday.

So, not a teenager carrying more than one knife? So why the bulk purchase thing?

A government-commissioned review has found that age verification for buying knives online is “a huge vulnerability”, and that 15 illegal dealers had sold more than 2,000 knives in an 18-month period.

Metropolitan police commander Stephen Clayman, the national lead for knife crime who led the review, said: “I could go to a legitimate dealer and buy 300 knives, and the dealer has no obligation to tell police that someone’s just bought that, or the fact I bought five knives each week for the last 10 weeks.

Well, no, of course not, you idiot! Because what's more likely, that they bought them to sell off individually to Shaniqua and DeWayne to settle beef in the ends, or that they are supplying chef's shools and catering colleges? It seems we hadn't quite scraped the bottom of the 'knife crime idiocy' barrel after all....

“We need to plug that and understand who is buying these knives. Because they are then selling indiscriminately to children and young men, predominantly men, because there are no age verification safeguards.”

How many of them? And how many are not? So you're going to start investigating legitimate business to catch the one, maybe two, people misselling? That doesn't sound likr a good use of time to me. As a wise woman once pointed out:

 

The home secretary, Yvette Cooper, said: “It is horrifying how easy it is for young people to get hold of knives online even though children’s lives are being lost, and families and communities are left devastated as a result.”

And how horrifying is it that they don't have to, because there's multiples in every kitchen in the country. Gosh. Maybe it's not the method, maybe it's the person, Yvette? 

Ronan’s mother, Pooja Kanda, said her son “didn’t stand a chance” against the weapons. “How was this allowed? A 16-year-old managed to get these weapons online and sold them to other people,” she said.

“We welcome the government’s plans to tackle the online sale of these weapons, and the proposal of a registration scheme, which will continue to implement stricter measures on the online sale of bladed articles. We have so much work to tackle knife crime; this is a much-needed beginning.”

Because we all know they aren't going to stop at this idiocy...despite being very well aware of where it's going to lead: 

The prison sentence for people caught selling weapons to under-18s will be increased from six months to up to two years, and both the individual who has processed the sale and the chief executive of a company face being charged. The measure will be implemented even after an official review found that longer incarceration had driven the country’s justice system to breaking point, and that successive governments had prioritised longer prison sentences over cutting reoffending.

We really are governed by morons, aren't we?

Idris Elba has called for kitchen knives to have their ends rounded off in a bid to tackle the UK's violent gang crisis.

Oh, not this old chestnut again... why is this overpaid mummer flapping his gums anyway?

...Idris Elba: A Year Of Knife Crime later this year, the 52-year-old actor made a number of suggestions to help bring an end to knife crime. The Luther star said that whilst banning the sale of zombie knives was a positive step in tackling the issue, he also believed ninja swords should be outlawed and suggested kitchen blades have their sharp point removed.

Prisoners in jail are pretty inventive about sharpening toothbrush handles to make shivs, but I'm sure this wouldn't happen elsewhere, eh, Idris? Not that any manufacturer of kitchen implements is going to take a blind bit of notice.  

He told the BBC: 'Not all kitchen knives need to have a point on them, that sounds like a crazy thing to say. But you can still cut your food without the point on your knife, which is an innovative way to look at it.'

I looked up the term 'innovative', Idris, and...

Maybe you should manufacture little rubber tips that people could buy to apply to the hundreds of thousands of knives in kitchens in the country, Idris, make a bit of cash on the side?

The award-winning screen star also believes young people in London gangs are 'not big and scary', adding it is 'sad' that society has 'turned our back on them'.

I think it's the gangs who have turned their back on society, isn't it? 

He also felt big tech and social media needed to take more responsibility over the issue, saying: 'When it comes to big tech, there needs to be accountability within their own policies, and their policies need to be educated and driven by what society deems is right or wrong.

'It's great that you're a big company, you make a lot of money, got lots of social media followers, that's fantastic.

'But by the way, we don't like knives, we're not going to tolerate you advertising knives to young people, please.

The tech companies aren't doing the 'advertising', that would be the thugs making TikTok rap videos, Idris.... 

'We don't like porn, we don't like this, we don't like bully dogs, it can be done in a society, and in my opinion, where democracy leads, it takes a village.'

And this one is clearly missing its idiot. He seems to think everything - tools, social media - is to blame for violent gang stabbings except the violent members of gangs doing the stabbing. 

Might As Well Have Fined Her £1000000

My guess is you'll never see a penny:

A woman has been ordered to pay nearly £2,000 after fly-tipping a pile of construction waste in South London. The dumped waste was found by Bromley Council officers in May this year where it was blocking a path leading to a plot on Oaklands Lane, Biggin Hill.

My guess is she didn't dump it personally, but employed a dodgy 'waste disposal' firm on social media... 

Laura Estrada of Great Western Road in Western Park was prosecuted by the authority after she failed to respond to a legal notice asking her to provide information on the disposed rubbish.

And so she was summoned to court. And ignored that too. 

Ms Estrada was found guilty in her absence at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on October 8.

What's the betting she'll ignore the demand for the fine as well? 

Conservative Councillor Angela Page, executive councillor for public protection and enforcement, said: "We are tackling the menace of fly-tipping, with the support of residents. What may not be known is that as well as clearing reports of dumped rubbish, we also investigate who may have been responsible.These enquiries are legally significant, and recipients of notices requiring information that may assist in such investigations are required by law to respond or face prosecution, which has happened in this example."

Good luck with getting that fine paid, Angela! 

Utter Insanity...

Trained shooters will be deployed to the dense forests of the West Coast forests to kill almost a half-million barred owls that are crowding out their endangered cousins.

Given how similar the two species are, there's almost certain to be 'mistakes'.  

'Without actively managing barred owls, northern spotted owls will likely go extinct in all or the majority of their range, despite decades of collaborative conservation efforts,' said Fish and Wildlife Service Oregon state supervisor Kessina Lee. But the notion of killing one bird species to save another has divided wildlife advocates and conservationists.

If the spotted owls can't compete they will lose. That's biological reality. I guess 'believe the science' doesn't apply here?  

'The Fish and Wildlife Service is turning from protector of wildlife to persecutor of wildlife,' said Wayne Pacelle, founder of the advocacy group Animal Wellness Action. Pacelle predicted the program would fail because the agency won't be able to keep more barred owls from migrating into areas where others have been killed.

As a habitat opens up, it will be colonised. Nature is far more ruthless than even man.  

'It's Not The Dog, It's The Owner!'

An XL Bully dog in Bolton could be destroyed after it got into a fight with a similar dog.

...well, in this case, it does seem to be the owner as well.  

The rules changed on the breed of animal in February this year, meaning owners were ordered to muzzle them in public and have insurance for them. But Bolton man Gareth Everett failed to apply these rules to his dog named Menace, Bolton Magistrates' Court heard.

I very much doubt he's the only one. So this is yet another non-starter that would merely cause an extra burden to responsible owners while scofflaws ignore it like they ignore everything else.  

The court was told his dog attacked another XL Bully after leaving his home in March this year. A woman took her XL Bully, which was registered properly, and tied it upside outside the Best One store on Morris Green Lane in the town.Julia Draper, prosecuting, said:

“The defendant’s dog, called Menace, attacked the woman’s dog for minutes rather than seconds.“Eventually a lead was used to loop around the dog and separate it.

“The defendant had been notified his dog was out and had caused a problem at the shop.”

Who'd expect that behaviour from a dog named 'Menace'?  

The prosecutor also said there would be an application for the “forfeiture and destruction” of the dog to come under the Dangerous Dogs Act. She added that there would be an application for compensation to the woman who owned the other dog but it was unclear what the veterinary bill was at this stage.

Chair of the bench Joanne Halliday adjourned the case to next month. She said: “You are going to see probation and a report is going to be done. “A decision will be made over the forfeiture and destruction of the dog.”

Let's hope they come to the right one. It'll make a nice change.

As Inevitable As Summer Itself...

The instant the temperature spikes up, the drownings start....

The father of a boy who drowned in the River Tyne has told of his anguish after another teen died on the same stretch of water. Carl Hattersley says yesterday's tragedy has brought back memories of his ordeal in July 2022 when his son, Robert, 13, died. Robert, from Crawcrook, was swept under by the current when he got into difficulty while swimming with his pals in the river in Ovingham, Northumberland. Yesterday, a 14-year-old boy died and a 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition after getting into difficulty in the same waters. The teen who passed away had jumped in to save his friend who began to struggle while playing on a rope swing, locals revealed.

Mr Hattersley, who has set up a foundation in his son's name to raise awareness of the dangers of open water swimming, said he wanted to send his condolences to the boy's family.

Just how much 'awareness' can you raise, if the constant stream of deaths isn't doing the trick?  

He said he was 'quite disappointed' with Northumberland Council, which he says has not been in touch with him since his son's death. 'We thought something would have been done by the Northumberland Council by now,' he said.

Ah, yes, the 'someone should do something!' attitude that's so often prevalent in these cases.  Quite what they should do, heaven only knows - fence off every stretch of open water in the area? At a cost to the local taxpayer? 

Mr Hattersley said he wanted to raise awareness of the dangers of open water swimming in schools. 'Let's get people aware, of all ages, like these young teenagers,' he said.

'If they're not from around here they might not know the dangers of Northumberland's rivers because it's quite dangerous and strong because of the current.''Kids are kids. They go down to the river and they don't see the dangers, they think it's fine. As the summer gets closer there's going to be more going down there.'

And there will be more drownings. In fact, here they are alreadyhere they are already.  

Impose All The 'Special Conduct Requirements' You Want...

...it won't stop its behaviour:

A transgender sex offender was caught with three vulnerable children locked in a house, a court heard yesterday. Police had to break down Ryan Scott's door after neighbours reported seeing three youngsters enter his home. By the time they got in, he had engaged in sexual activity with a girl aged 14.

Reader, that should perhaps read 'another girl', for it could be that she is a girl, though it's always hard to know with these stories... 

Scott, 21, was convicted of a similar offence as a female called Coral Scott last year. At those proceedings, the accused was understood to be identifying as female in prison.

Ah. Clarification. Identifying as one since that's exactly what she was born as, and always will be.  

Yesterday, at Dundee Sheriff Court, Scott admitted engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl on April 9 last year. Sheriff Paul Brown imposed two special 'conduct requirements' prohibiting contact with under-16s without permission and 'reporting any intimate relationship to the supervising officer'.

An exercise in total futility since it's already shown no intention to co-operate. 

One month before the latest offence took place, Coral Scott was banned at the same court from starting any new relationship without special permission.She was banned from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16, but was allowed to walk free from court after a sheriff said the time spent on remand would count as the punishment.

The authorities cannot deal with 'ordinary' male peadophiles, so why they think they can ever handle this bag of crazy, god only knows.  

Scott, who was most recently being held in Polmont, was placed on the sex offenders' register and under social work supervision for three years.During that case, the court heard Scott lured a schoolgirl to a flat to engage in sexual activity on Valentine's Day, despite knowing she was 14. Scott, who was born female, then tried to pervert the course of justice by issuing death threats to the schoolgirl.

Of course, why not? Break one law and get away with it, and you might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb. But because of the trans cult aspects of this, even the victims can't avoid playing into the warped fantasy of the perpetrator:

The victim's mother, 33, said: 'It broke our hearts to see what this monster had done to our little girl. It destroyed our beautiful daughter. She was a child and whether he was a man or a woman, this was an adult preying on a child.'

She was a woman. That's clear.  

But They Won't Warn Parents That Johnny Wants To Be Called 'Julie'...

...so why would they warn them about this?

 

A recent survey shows nine in ten mums and dads want to be informed if their young ones partake in using the devices, which teachers say are growing in popularity. Currently, there is no legal requirement for schools to ban vapes or to notify parents if their child is caught, as there is for tobacco and drugs.

If you want to be fully informed about what your child is up to, there's only one option: homeschool them! 

Stop Demanding New Laws!

Start demanding that the existing ones are used properly. 

The retailers, who also include the bosses of Aldi, Primark and Superdrug, call for the creation of a new UK-wide aggravated offence of assaulting or abusing a retail worker – as already exists in Scotland – which would carry tougher sentences and require police to record all incidents of retail crime and allow the allocation of more resources.

You're all idiots. Have you any idea how long it takes to get new legislation passed? Most of your shops will have closed down by the time it's on the books. 

“The police consistently tell us that a lack of data about these offences means they have no visibility about the nature or scale of the issue,” the letter says.

Well, they are clearly lying, aren't they? As their own data shows:

Meanwhile, the police’s own data for one major retailer shows that forces failed to respond to 73% of serious retail crimes that were reported...

What that letter should be urging is for them to start using the laws they already have. Not requesting new ones for them to ignore.  

Helen Dickinson, the chief executive of the BRC, which helped organise the letter to Braverman, said: “It is vital that action is taken before the scourge of retail crime gets any worse. We are seeing organised gangs threatening staff with weapons and emptying stores. We are seeing violence against colleagues who are doing their job and asking for age verification. We are seeing a torrent of abuse aimed at hardworking shop staff. It’s simply unacceptable – no one should have to go to work fearing for their safety. We need government to stand with the millions of retail workers who kept us safe and fed during the pandemic – and support them, as those workers supported us.”

All of those things are already crimes. Making them 'extra special super duper crimes' will take too long and still not help.  

You want to force the government's hand? Stop paying the bastards. No more cushy sinecure jobs for ex-Ministers or MPs. No more donations to the party. Starve them. 

Then You'll See More Cases Like This, Won't You?

DS Hughes said that although it appeared 'quite clear' Mustafa's friend had committed an offence of causing or permitting another to use a motor vehicle without a licence or insurance, it was judged not in the public interest to prosecute.

And if the next kid riding a scooter illegally bumps a passenger into the path of a bus instead of himself, will the CPS apologise to that person's family?

Asked by the coroner if he was concerned about children riding e-scooters, the officer said: 'Yes. I have dealt with a number of incidents involving e-scooters – both private and public trial scooters – including two fatalities and two serious injuries that I can recount off the top of my head.'

The officer said the issue of e-scooters being ridden on pavements was of particular concern.

Perhaps more police walking the beat would help, DS Hughes? 

In a joint statement, headteachers Lynn Petrie and Pete White, said the Voi trial scheme had been 'instantly problematic' from its outset in September 2020 due to children using the machines illegally. The schools, part of the same academy group, said they had written to parents and held assemblies on the issue.

The headteachers added that Mustafa's death seemed to have done little to stop children riding e-scooters, which youths often seen riding past the schools.

So everyone's doing what they can, but Darwin's winning this race as he often does... 

Relatives of Mustafa asked Mr Salmer why facial recognition couldn't be introduced to stop children logging on to accounts they are not registered to. But the regional general manager said it would be 'impractical…from a cost perspective' for all e-scooter providers to introduce such a facility at the moment, without significant subsidy.

So, to prevent your idiot kids killing themselves or others, the scooter company should be able to stick their hand in my pocket? No thanks.

Siddique Ali, 43, was identified after a public appeal from detectives but a Scotland Yard spokesman admitted his two dogs have still not been found.

...

A passing taxi driver broke the girl free from the dog’s grip and Ali left the area before police arrived.

If not for that taxi driver, the child could have been far more seriously injured. 

Ali, of Ackroyd Drive, Tower Hamlets, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday May 12 where he was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment for being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury to a person contrary to Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act.

He was also banned from keeping a dog for 10 years and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187.

And we all know how that's never enforced or monitored... 

If You're Wondering Why Cops Hate Going To Domestics...

...wonder no more: 

A man yelled "Don't know you know I am? I am the f***ing gold!" and threatened to "bite off" a police officer's face before breaking his arm in a drunken rage.

Peter Ellis, 39, punched a police officer in the jaw then shattered another's right arm when they turned up outside his Elm Gardens home in Seaforth at around 11pm on February 4 last year, having been called to reports of a domestic incident.

His girlfriend Michelle Smith, of Larch Grove, Bidston, then leapt into the fray, grabbing the injured police officer and kicking his broken arm several times.

Charming!  

The pair appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today, May 24, each pleading guilty to charges of assaulting an emergency worker and affray, with Ellis facing an additional charge of grievous bodily harm.

Bang to rights! No amount of mitigation will forestall a trip to chokey! 

Jim Smith, defending Ellis, said: "(Ellis) has sought therapy himself and is awaiting behavioural therapy, and is under the local mental health team. He suffers from complex PTSD owing to a life event which he suffered when he was a young man, which continues to affect his behaviour.

"He's somebody who has obtained employment, he's somebody who remains unlawful substance-free. He's somebody who contributes to the family as much as possible... It's a very different man you see before you today in court than that which committed the offences in February 2022."

Gary Lawrenson, defending Smith, said: "This was genuinely and completely out of character for this woman. She doesn't usually drink and she certainly hasn't since. She does take full responsibility for her actions. This is the first time that she's been before any court at the age of 37, a terrifying experience that she seeks never to repeat."

Ah, good effort, lads, but you're wasting your ti.. 

Ellis was given a 12 month sentence suspended for two years, and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and 20 days of rehabilitation. Smith was given a four-month sentence suspended for two years, and 20 days of rehabilitation.

Guess What'll Happen..?

The Metropolitan police will no longer attend emergency calls related to mental health incidents, the force’s commissioner has said.

Oh..? 

In a letter seen by the Guardian, Sir Mark Rowley says he will order his officers not to attend thousands of calls they get every year to deal with mental health incidents.

Rowley has given health and social care services a deadline of 31 August before the force starts its ban, which will only be waived if a threat to life is feared.

So, 'a threat to life' will be reported, of course! Because no-one ever gets reported for misleading the police, do they?

Curtis Taylor, 29, was arrested when police found him with blood on him after being called to reports of an assault on Duxbury Drive, Bury. Minshull Street Crown Court heard how Taylor, of Seddon Avenue, Radcliffe, "maintained he had been playfighting" but matters escalated when police dropped him off, only to have to rearrest him when he went straight back to Duxbury Drive.

Ms Laverty told the court how Taylor, who has 24 previous convictions for 31 offences, ended up spitting at one of the officers and he was arrested for common assault on an emergency worker. He pleaded guilty at the first opportunity on July 13 last year, but this marks the second time Taylor has been brought to court for this crime. Taylor was last brough before the court in September last year, with his sentence deferred until now which had given him another chance to avoid prison.

And he treated it just as you'd expect. 

Michael Lea, defending, argued that Taylor still deserved credit for having pleaded guilty and told the court that he had been working at trying to improve his behaviour.

Judge Angela Nield agreed to defer Taylor’s sentencing again...

...but warned about what the consequences could be if he fails to improve his behaviour.

Two men have been banned from owning dogs for three years under new get-tough powers designed to target poachers.

On Tuesday, February 21, Colchester magistrates handed David Hilden and Tyron Young the disqualification orders in what is believed to be a national first after the pair each admitted a charge of daytime trespass in pursuit of game.

Are they local boys who just like dags..? 

The court heard both men had travelled to the Saffron Walden area from south London with dogs which were to be used to poach game.

From Croydon, I'll bet. 

Investigating officer PC Nigel Wright, of Essex Police’s rural engagement team, said: “The poaching of wild animals is extremely cruel but it can also cause a lot of damage to crops and farmland, which is very costly for the land owner or farmer.

“Dogs are integral to poaching and I am delighted that the magistrates were able to use this new legislation to deprive these two poachers of any access to dogs, even just walking someone else’s, for the next three years.

“We look forward to working with the CPS to have these disqualification orders applied in cases of hare coursing and other poaching offences in the future.”

But unless someone monitors them, how will you know that they are effective?

MailOnline has discovered there is a cycling path that would have diverted him through a subway underneath, avoiding heavy traffic. The roundabout is said to be a notorious accident black spot.
