"Anybody else want to negotiate?"

He said his client had then followed the culprit into the Costcutter and that is how the offence took place.

He added: “He started out almost being a UN negotiator and ended up being the only person arrested.”
Well, not entirely sure of that

During the row, he smashed bottles of alcohol inside the store worth £200. So it's rather puzzling that:
Barber, 46, of Northville Drive, Westcliff, pleaded guilty to all three offences.

He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, pay £95 costs, and £50 compensation to the shop.
£50 compensation?

So, what happened to the other £150? Does the shopkeeper have to write that off as a loss or claim on his own insurance?

YES is the answer. Or else make yet another claim on their insurance.
The Courts get their costs. You, the victim, get FA!
I was given £150 for having front teeth knocked out. Court got £300 in costs. Go Figure!
BTW. CCTV NOT working/used...kind passers by witnessed it.

I bet the "worth £200" was retail value and he only got compensated for cost value.

There is nothing worse than a pissed up "peacemaker". They always, always make the situation 10 times worse.
