I’m A Diner, Tim, And You Don’t Describe Me…

Tim Glover, co-founder and managing director of Fish2fork, added: “We believe the sector as a whole should be putting much more effort into sourcing practices and the information given to customers. Diners want to eat with a clear conscience, to know that their menu choices are not further damaging our hard-pressed seas.”
Do they? Do they really?

I suspect Virtue Signallers might, but everyone else just orders what they fancy and tucks in!
Seven of the chains failed to reach the basic level of sustainability on seafood that Fish2fork and MCS believe to be the minimum standard.
And should they meet it next time round, want to bet it'll ratchet up. and up?
“Working with Fish2fork, MCS aims to make the UK the first sustainable seafood nation in the world. MCS advice on seafood sustainability has already influenced major supermarkets to adopt sustainable sourcing policies and the restaurant sector needs to follow suit,” said Sam Fanshawe,
Really? Why?

"Tim Glover, co-founder and managing director"

It must have been a coup in the boardroom to get Tim appointed as MD. I wonder if he's the only one who gets to use the executive bathroom?

"Diners want to eat with a clear conscience"
Note to self - don't go to a restaurant having just murdered an innocent family.

You know, if Tim really, really cared about fish, he'd go vegan. As it now stands, he's only "putting the tip in", IYGMD.

You ask why. It's all about empire building, these psychopaths are being given momentum by major media. Just about any twaddle seems to have the Beeb and the press wetting their pants. Sustainable fishing is a grenade in a carp pond according to my Czech mates.

Well of course if the standards are met they will be raised, these types always do that. The bigger question though, is: What exactly is a seafood sustainable nation, and how do you expect the rest of the world not to eat that which you don't?

Heh!

"Tim getting some free advertising I for his company."

Oh, indeed so!

"...and how do you expect the rest of the world not to eat that which you don't?"

I can't see the developing nations caring much for the prospect of Tim's little sticker on the menu...
