Maybe I'm Missing Something Here...



...but aren't all horses vegan..?

Mares will eat the placenta after foaling.
Don't know if eating part of yourself counts as being non-vegan.

Having had a cob grab and eat a sardine sandwich, I might dispute this label. Vegan in this context probably means that all of their tack is made from nylon webbing and neoprene, not leather.

When I was a nipper, a great aunt told me that before World War 1 it was customary for some to feed donkeys a bit of bully beef. It can't have done them much good.

Weren't there some horses in the Greek myths, labours of Hercules I think, that ate human flesh? Maybe they were snuck in in the back of a lorry.
