And They Call Michael Savage A ‘Shock Jock’…

A controversial German anatomy artist is facing protests over his latest plastination exhibition after unveiling a work showing two corpses having sexual intercourse.
Could have been worse – he could have posed them at computers, sending each other jokes about swine flu. Now, that would have been tasteless!
Gunther von Hagens, whose latest exhibition, Cycle of Life, opens in Berlin tomorrow , has defended the exhibit saying that it combines the two greatest taboos of sex and death and is a lesson in biology, but is "not meant to be sexually stimulating".
Lots of things aren’t meant to be sexually stimulating, but we’re talking about human sexuality here, Gunther!
The man and woman consented to appear in a sexual pose, Von Hagens said.
Really…? Did their release forms actually specify that? And did they know with whom they’d be posed?

Perhaps we should employ whoever drew them up to write government contracts for IT instead? Chap obviously knows a thing or two about watertight clauses!

"plastination, a preservation technique whereby an embalmed body is drained of its natural fluids and injected with a polymer solution. The body is posed and then cured and hardened into position". - That's pretty dirty.. euuuwww!
Der Spiegel has some closeups.

Yeah, you've got to wonder just what the hell went down on career day at school:

"So, have you thought of what you plan to do when you leave school, Gunter?"

"Well, I've often thought how nice it would be, how socially rewarding and artistic, to pose plastinated corpses in realistic postions and show everyone something about the fragility of the human condition."

It's a bit "necrophilious".... I don't need that particular thought in my head too.. :)
