Much As I Hate To Agree With Caroline Lucas On Anything

The House of Commons is refusing to sell recycled Christmas cards because they would be "vastly inferior" to ones already on offer, the Standard can reveal.
Which is strange, given that they have no problem whatsoever forcing the civil service to use recycled paper for all their letters to their employers (us, the taxpayers).
The Speaker's Art Fund has turned down a request from Green Party leader Caroline Lucas to provide recycled cards on the grounds of quality.
I guess it’s good enough for us proles, though?

I had to use that 'paper' at the DWP and it is disgusting, it looks & feels like scrap paper. I actually felt embarrassed sending it out to clients. No private sector company would get away with sending it to customers, you would feel insulted receiving it in the post and take your business elsewhere, no matter how much they trumpet their 'green' credentials.

So I agree with her as well

Bollox. It's perhaps one of the few occassions where recycled charity cards are prefarable knowing full well that they're going straight in the effin' bin.

We're forced to pay shed loads of taxes for hokum science but it becomes a matter of principle for something no-one really gives a monkeys about.

Arguing about frigging Christmas cards. Good to see that our MPs are delivering a quality service and have their fingers firmly on the political pulse...

And, according to friends in the civil service, it jams in the photocopier far more often than the normal stuff!

I take all my old cards into the office to recycle with a local charity.

As always!
