'Telegraph' Photo Editor Motto: "Meh! Close Enough..."

The 'Telegraph' has a story today about a goshawk chick being blown out of it's nest by a gust of wind, caught on a birdwatch CCTV.

They chose to illustrate this story on their front page with a picture of....

....a peregrine falcon!

*sigh* Time to add a new tag. I'm obviously going to need it.

Give 'em a break. It was an African elephant when I looked a few hours ago ;-) I was going to give them a little leeway for the birds looking vaguely similar apart from size, which can be tricky in a photo, but then I noticed that the lazy twats got the image from the RSPB page they linked to in the article, and the the filename is "pegnest300_tcm9-140599.jpg". Doesn't sound very goshawk-y, does it? Silly bastards probably assumed that because it was on the same page as the goshawk video it was a photo of a goshawk. You were right. They're shitehouse at photo selection at The Telegraph.

And it's obviously not CCTV footage either.

As the Telegraph lurches leftward it seeks to emulate its nearest rival - the Grauniad.

Good grief, that's even worse then! I was assuming they let some YTS trainee wander through the photo archives...

I guess they couldn't be bothered to just take a screengrab from the video footage.

It does seem to be going downhill quite rapidly, doesn't it?
