Surely, You Jest..?

"Surely a 2 or 3 year old will be supervised and it's for their parents to explain it or keep them away in the same way as they keep them off other equipment for bigger children."
So says an online commenter to this story about a council's newly-built playing area for children, which appears to have a rather unfortunately-designed piece of equipment.

Clearly, this commenter hasn't observed an awful lot of modern day parents, have they?

"Samantha Redford, 18, said her daughter Roxii, two, loved the new park. "

Says a lot....

We should remove all taxpayer funded Safety Elf numpties from every park, playground, swimming pool, sandpit, beach etc, put up leglly binding disclaimer notices and leave it up to the parents of the child to look after them.

The smart ones would get it immediately and would make sure their child was safe, the others wouldnt. I'm sure there would be some accidents, some of them serious, but this would soon stop when even the dimmest of bulbs lit up with the realisation that THEIR child was THEIR responsibility.

Consider it as evolution in action.

Indeed. I did note the names of the kiddiewinks in the recent kidnap from social services case: Billy Blu and Vixen Rae.

"...but this would soon stop when even the dimmest of bulbs lit up with the realisation that THEIR child was THEIR responsibility."

It'll never happen, though. Everything, these days, must be done to save the children.
