Hayley Chapman has complained to the council and Spectrum Housing Association because she says the problem at Bramble Court in West Moors has been ongoing for more than a year.
The 29-year-old, who has a four-month-old baby, Daisy, said the garden posed a serious health and safety risk especially for the children and elderly residents.
She said: “The garden is incredibly dangerous and absolutely covered in rubbish including dirty nappies, beer cans and food waste. It is disgusting because you can see huge rats running around attracted by the overflowing bins.
“I’m gobsmacked that the problem has been allowed to continue for more than a year.”Can't your husband do anything about it for you?
No? Hmmm. I'm not 'gobsmacked' about that, frankly...
"Can't your husband do anything about it for you?"
Reading the article I, once again, had cause to pause and mentally thank the Lord for SMOOG.
SMOOG is my mental shorthand for 'Single Mother Of Our Granddaughter'. Her housing association provided bungalow is so clean that even I, with my OCD, am forced to think 'steady on Hinny, NO ONE's kitchen work surfaces need to be *that* clean and God gave us floors to walk on-not eat off!'...and SMOOG only became an adult herself this last year or so (yeah, Norfolk for the Win!). How she finds the time to do housework while bringing up a 'Aspi' child who doesn't sleep (literally she sleeps 3 hours a night tops!) while studying for A Levels is beyond my comprehension and having been a single Dad-to all intents and purposes-to 3 boys I know a little about sleep deprivation.
Having read the comments on the article I have to wonder whether some of the commentators realize that they are as much to blame themselves as the Child-Mumx3 in the photo -who is obviously too lazy to get off her, no doubt, ever expanding arse and put on an apron (actually is it now a hate crime to say that? Aprons being the ultimate symbol of female oppression no doubt?)?
It's not the Single Mum who is the problem so much as the Parents of the lad(s) who sired the children upon her. The parents of said single Mum also need to be apportioned a large dose of blame.
If I had raised my Kid better he wouldn't have gotten a 14 year old pregnant, would have 'stood by her' and been a father to his child. Mea Culpa-and I don't mean that ironically. The parents of our own SMOOG obviously did a much better job raising their daughter then I did my son. They taught to keep her house clean, to take pride in herself, to work hard, to take responsibility for her actions and to hate being on benefits.
Biggest problem we have with SMOOG is getting her to accept what little help we can give her.
The Older Child in the photo needs to get on her Mobile, like, and ring whichever of her half brothers has a van and do a dump run. Surely her Beau's Pittbull can sort out the rats?
hold on, could you not be mistaken in thinking that Hayley has a "husband"
It's your garden love, and soiled nappies, surely not your own off-spring's soiled nappies? Surely the Housing Association didn't give her a garden in that state?
What is it with these people? They get the housing for next to nothing yet still aren't prepared to make any effort themselves to keep it in a habitable condition. "Why should I?" has become something of a mantra of late... It's about time someone forcibly showed them why they should...

"Surely her Beau's Pittbull can sort out the rats?"
:D But in truth, it's more likely to maul her...

""Why should I?" has become something of a mantra of late... It's about time someone forcibly showed them why they should..."
A Herculean task...
