It's who else, but the incomparable Dusty, with the theme to the 1989 film 'Scandal', about the Christine Keeler affair.
One of the Pet Shop Boys' major successes, the lyrics do rather spoil the film for you, but then, who doesn't know the story anyway?

It has been decades since I heard Dusty's voice but that instantly recognisable timbre is ever the great pleasure. Had the producers whipped up the search for a more relevant film theme, Dusty's 'Going back' would have been hard to beat.
I decided to clear out my entire collection of Dusty Springfield CDs, Books etc.
It's all gone - but now...
I just don't know what to do with my shelf
