As the chief constable spoke, a Labour MP called for his force to be shut down and reconfigured.
Bassetlaw MP John Mann said: “Nobody should pre-judge ongoing inquiries into the police, but whatever conclusions they reach, the credibility of the institution of South Yorkshire Police has been irreparably damaged.
“It needs a new identity and more importantly a new ethos and ethics. South Yorkshire Police should be disbanded.”So we are demolishing perfectly good houses because a murderer lived there, airbrushing DJs and singers out of historical documentaries because unsubstantiated allegations have been made, now this madness?
When do we start demanding no CCTV because it’s ‘stealing our souls’..?

We are very quick to accuse and to assume guilt before all the evidence is in often even before any is presented. This habit of ours is easily exploited by the unscrupulous they can manipulate us in to doing almost anything from lynching someone to influencing who we or what we support.
The Hillsborough tragedy and the EU referendum are prime example of this in action. Wild accusations are being made by everyone and few bother to find out the truth or not behind them just accept the one that best fits their prejudice and/or their self interest.

Sadly true. And it isn't until our own ox is gored that many wise up..
