More Vibrancy And Cultural Enrichment…

Akilan Kandhasamy, 29, was fatally stabbed at about 11.30pm on Saturday at a party held at the New Horizon Centre, in South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham.

According to the family which organised the party, a group of teenagers – five black youths and two girls, one black and one white – were hanging around outside the community centre and began demanding money from guests at knifepoint.
A veritable United Nations of diversity!

If it turns out they are the culprits, and one or more has ‘learning difficulties’ (and if they don’t, they will by the time their defence team finishes) we’ll have the whole Victimhood Poker suite!
Baskaran Sinnathurai, who lives in Thornton Heath, said one guest had been robbed of £60 in cash and ran inside to warn others and to call the police.

Minutes later, he said, Mr Kandhasamy stumbled into the hall clutching his chest and appeared to have been stabbed once.
Not being familiar with modern English customs, they expected public services to be, well, serviceable:
Mr Sinnathurai also said party guests ran across South Lodge Lane to a nearby police office for the Pollards Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team, wrongly assuming a police officer would be there.

He said: “Two people ran over and ran back saying that no one had answered. We didn’t know they were there during the day only. We were running around not knowing what to do.”
An everyday story of ‘government cutbacks’?

Well, let’s count how many PR staff and ‘victim support teams’ and ‘community reassurance officers’ turn up in the aftermath, while the - stretched-thin - real police try to solve the crime, before we decide that, eh?

Is everybody else looking forward to being old and defenceless in this insane dungheap of a country as much as I am?

Multiculturalism: reducing a population to a patchwork of tribal groups, too busy preying on one another and too mtually antipathetic to ever unite and present real opposition to the Political Class.

Working as designed, my friends; working exactly as designed.

You know full well Julia that these little police offices are only manned during the day.I'm sure it was the police's fault that someone got stabbed by a scumbag.
I think if someone got stabbed the thing to do is call 999.Proximity to a police station is no guarantee of safety. In fact proximity to a police officer is no guarantee of safety either. That's why I don't go out on my own,it's scary out there!!

There is a lot of talk these days about policemen spending too much time doing 'paper work'.

However I wonder how much time is wasted by coppers having to drive back and forth.

In our area, where they shut all the small town 'nicks' for efficiency reasons of course, anyone arrested after office hours has to be ferried to the approved Custody Suite which can be an hour's or more away drive away.

The mobile unit has it's base 40 miles away from us.

A CID officer of my acquaintance was told he would have to commute an 80 mile round trip a day on norfolk roads if he wanted to stay in the CID as his post was being redeployed.

All those miles wasted driving, all those emissions ...will no one think of the poor squirreeEEEEls?

Indeed!

"^This!"

Very much so! I wonder if any other 'communities' get - or need - a public meeting to address residents' concerns..?

"I think if someone got stabbed the thing to do is call 999."

Well, yes. But you can understand their confusion on seeing a police station close by, can't you?

I find myself agreeing with SBC once again (don't tell Melvin).
In London the police are selling off all the Victorian stations to developers.Once sold they are gone for ever.In their place we are renting little shop-fronts open 9-5 inhabited by PCSO's and the odd real PC.Meanwhile in the real world the response teams all squeeze into each borough's main station. If we take this to it's logical conclusion we will all parade at Scotland Yard before getting sent out on patrol.
