The teenager has a history of violence including convictions for two attempted robberies at the age of 12*, one when armed with a screwdriver. He had been excluded from school three times including once which a teacher described as “unparalleled violence not seen before.”The ghetto culture:
The boy claimed he had been given the gun to look after by someone else – whom he refused to name because “I am not a snitch.”The lenient sentence due to age:
Today Judge Charles Wide QC imposed a nine year sentence and added a five year extension to the period he must serve on licence to protect the public. He told the Old Bailey that the boy posed “a significant risk to members of the public of significant harm.”More of that wonderful enriching ghetto culture:
He insisted he had never quarrelled with the schoolgirl he called his BM - or baby mother - and had no reason to harm her.And finally - the names, my god, the names!
In an impact statement read to the court today Shereka’s mother Shyrine Mills …A very modern crime tale, in all respects. Not quite the sort of thing Agatha Christie might have written about, though, eh?
*At 12, eh? No doubt he’s one of those ‘children’ that the police need to pander to much more:
Negative experiences, such as arrest and stop and search procedures, breeds "frustration and anger", it warned. As much anger as seeing your daughter on a slab for consorting with the local bad boy..?

Most of the "children" I arrest don't give a toss and are not the slightest bit scared of the police.
Jaded
Well Jaded, you can put that down to a culture of "I'm only a minor, you do or say anything to offend my sensibilities, and I'll have the law on ya!!".
The words "Rod for" and "Own back" spring to mind here...
They're not children by any stretch of the imagination. They are old before theri time, hardened by a life dominated by gangsta peer pressure and shored up by the pandering of a Guardianista legal establishment, social workers and an emasculated police farce. these 'kidz' are cruel, vile with no regard for anything other than instant gratification. It's a shame that my attention was grabbed by their stupid, ridiculous names than their respective fates. No doubt lessons will be learned, more grant money doled out , more empowerment workshops and Camila Batmanthingy will get fatter!
It's a Hackneyed tale alright.
Bunny
I noticed the dreg of humanity who killed the teacher has been exposed, but this equally loveable rogue still has anonymity. Is it cos he black?
Sigh.
“They travelled to Pakistan for burial on the same plane together last night."
Every cloud and all that...
Hmm even just glancing at the, I suspect non too accurate, news paper article a couple of things bother me; Being a snitch is in some quarters a capital offence and that is nothing new. When one considers that the gun had been used in a gangland killing then I could well believe that this kid's refusal to name the owner of the illegal firearm was not due to 'attitude' but sheer self preservation.
He was clearly pissing around and wanted to scare his 'BM' a little whilst acting the Big Man/The Gangsta. Probably to get her in the mood.
I feel sorry for everyone involved, including the kid shooter. Hell especially for the shooter. The person who needs jailing is the 'gangsta' who gave him the gun to look after.
"And finally - the names, my god, the names!"
And the award for the most ridiculously funny n****r name of 2014 goes to:
Scientist Smile
Unfortunately, Scientist cannot collect his award in person due to prison commitments for a machete attack on pensioners.

Uhm it seems my gut feeling about this case may have been correct. Did you miss the bit at the bottom of the article: "In an impact statement read to the court today Shereka’s mother Shyrine Mills said that the only emotion she felt towards her daughter’s killer was sympathy, which Mr Rees described as “a remarkable attitude given the nature of the case.”" ?
The victims mother probably thought that her daughter getting to 15 was an achievement.

No doubt, although if they had been a norfolk family then the victim's mother could find solace in caring for her 3 year old granddaughter....

I don't doubt it for a minute, sadly...

Quite!

You are a more forgiving person than me, then. Not that that's hard.
"Unfortunately, Scientist cannot collect his award in person due to prison commitments for a machete attack on pensioners."
*gobsmacked*
I can't wait for 'Ebola' to start showing up on school registers!

*chuckles*
On the bright side, she'd have extra fingers to help with that!
