Is it possible it’s because of
the people it employs?
… his victim, who used to work in the probation service, said he had no desire for his attacker to go to prison and described it as an “unfortunate outcome”.
Wha..? He could have killed you!
Robert Downs, 23, unemployed, of Baranscraig Avenue, Brighton, was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to GBH with intent on October 23 at Lewes Crown Court.
Thankfully, the justice system, for once, took a more sensible view.
“I said in my victim impact statement I’ve no desire to see him go to prison. It’s an unfortunate outcome.
“But what a way to end an argument – by bottling a granddad.
“I would obviously think twice about saying something to someone now.”
And so the thugs & bullies win. Great! That helps build a better society, doesn't it?

Granddad admitted to engaging in a swearing match, all over an inconsiderately parked car. Subsequently he made conciliatory noises. Hmm, methinks this is more a case of provocation by an ex member of the privileged army of jobsworths. They don't retire, they just carry on bitching at us.
I suspect you're right...
