I enjoy your "look at the spelling mistakes" bits but, as an Aussie, I'm afraid you got it wrong here. In Oz we spell it "groper". For instance, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_groper . We also call several fish similar to what you'd call a "grouper", cod, no similarity to the Atlantic cod at all. Just local names and local spellings, there are no such things as "correct" common names for animal species. Dick from Oz.
