This Must Be What They Mean By 'Fusion Food'...

Who knew it was a classic Mexican dish?

Never saw it when we spent the weeks in Mexico. I wonder if it's another sign of the dumbing down of British education - deep south in America is not the same as South America.

Bet it don't contain any Mexicans though?

I used to laugh years ago at a men's fragrance named Tsunami. Today, most people would recognise the word and its meaning but back then, few knew. So its not a recent dumbing down. Just a marketing dept trying to pick cool names and phrases without bothering to check anything other than a prior trademark.

John,

A few years back when I worked in the booze trade a very big US drinks firm was marketing a new Tequila brand called "Giro". I persuaded them it might have certain negative connotations if marketed as such in the UK.......

Round my way near Brighton, the 'ethnic section' of Tescos is selling cock flavour soup...
Not sure if that is a bad labelling or they are going for the Pink Pound...

I think John Pickworth has the answer - it sounds good, and to an ad exec, that's all that counts!

"... a new Tequila brand called "Giro"."

Awesome!

"...cock flavour soup..."

Yikes!!
