The RSPDJs annual count is not until February 'the hungry month' where volunteers go out and see which DJs have visited the bar-tables set up in their front gardens in a 12-hour period.

They like beer, peanuts and cheese footballs, but to give yourself the best chance of spotting one you must thread bacon rashers on cotton and tie them to a washing line. Then the DJs will snaffle them of with their nibbly lips, which takes a few minutes.

Is it too much to hope that 'being merry' involved firing ping-pong balls at the punters?
