The Tyranny Of The Fake Charity And The Chiiiiilllldreeeeen!

Saturday afternoon will see the first trial in York of a street closure purely for children’s play.
If successful, it is hoped other streets may follow the example set by The Big York Playday 2013 event, which will be staged in The Groves area of the city.
Oh, yes. This again. And a fakecharity is behind it all:
Cath Prisk, director of Play England, said: “It’s up to all of us to turn around the creeping disappearance of children from our streets, parks and communities.“
What disappearance? And even it that was true, why would it be a problem that requires fixing?
“We all have a role – as families, neighbours, and friends. We can all do something to say ‘we love kids playing outdoors, that we want to live in communities that actively welcome kids playing out.”
And…what if we don’t love them, and don’t want to live in those communities? What if, after a hard day's work to pay taxes to keep the parents in child benefit beer vouchers, we'd like to kick off our shoes, relax and not have to listen to them screeching at top volume as they whizz up and down the street?

Must we pretend that we do, for fear of being thought ‘intolerant’?
Fears of strangers, traffic and intolerant neighbours were some of the main reasons given by parents over their concerns about children playing out.
Ah. Answered my own question there.

Oh, and through the wonders of GoogleMaps, we can see just what sort of soulless concrete jungle, devoid of 'play opportunities' these poor deprived moppets live in:

There are parks not ten minutes walk away!

So why the hell do you want them to play in the street?

"Paedophobe!" the lefties will shout.

That's right. We all think like Cath Prisk, and if we don't, there's something wrong with us - why - we're intolerant!

How I miss the days when women with nothing to do would neck a bottle of gin and watch television.

Fuck the kids.

If you look at the charity's web site and follow the link to google maps showing the central London headquarters it's in a block populated with a load of other fake charities.

This could get confusing!

"That's right. We all think like Cath Prisk, and if we don't, there's something wrong with us..."

Isn't that the mindset of the Righteous?

"Fuck the kids."

Well, I wouldn't go that far... ;)

Oh, indeed! And they crop up again in one of today's posts!

I used to play in the street as a kid until it was 'time to go in' - the curfew set by our parents. If we were a minute late we got clip round the ear. After that it was a quick wash and then off to bed.

But that was back in the days when things worked, before the Lefties wrecked it all.
