Of course you can make it sound funny, but not knowing anything about Basildon or British towns in general, I can still understand why people might be concerned. It's not that they miss KFC or Pizza Hut or anything. It's that a) people are too poor to eat at KFC, or b) surroundings are too dangerous for employees to work, or c) the environment is otherwise hostile to consumer business.
It's not too bad, for an occasional treat. I wouldn't want to live on it. XX
Agreed. But when a place closes, or goes bust, a lot of people spend hours, months, YEARS, not to say sometimes, a great deal of "research money", looking into the reasons, whilst missing the most obvious, that it MAY just be that the product IS shite.

All of a), b) and c) are cause for alarm.
You never thought that it might just be that people don't want to eat at unlucky fried kitten because the food is shite?
Rochdale must be at panic stations level 9 with the loss of McDonalds there.
Serves KFC right for going halal.
David
hey, they are just catering to the local population.
"Serves KFC right for going halal."
They've gone halal?
"All of a), b) and c) are cause for alarm."
Especially in Basildon!
"...because the food is shite?"

"They've gone halal?"
Yes, but in some cases only briefly.
